Coach Kyle

I graduated from the University of Northern British Columbia in 2012 with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree, specializing in Finance and International Business. Growing up I was always active, from ice hockey and gymnastics in the Winter to swimming in the Summer. But it was in my third year of University where I discovered my true passion — the weight room! The weight room challenged and motivated me in a way University failed too. It wasn’t long until I was spending every free minute between classes in the weight room and rather than studying for midterms and final exams, I was devouring any and all information related to nutrition and strength training. At this time, there was very little information about flexible dieting and proper strength training protocols, but I have learned through trial and error over the past 7 years how to design a program that works for you, while achieving progressive overload. I am currently enrolled with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) to complete my Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) designation early next year. Having said all that, I am currently living in beautiful Kelowna, BC working as a Licensed REALTOR® with Royal LePage. I know what it’s like to work a high-pressured career, while living a healthy lifestyle. No joke — it takes hard work, dedication and above all else, commitment. Over the past several years, my goal has become to help other working professionals to live a healthy, sustainable lifestyle; both physically and mentally.

Coach Krys

Struggling with my body image as a teenager, I could not maintain a healthy body weight and was always told that I was "too skinny" and needed to "put meat on those bones." I ate as much as the next person, but with my high activity level and metabolic rate, I could simply not put on weight. I was always an athlete, with a passion for basketball. When I tried out for my University team, I was told I didn't make the cut because I was too small. This was devastating. I entered my first year University, which was the first year of not playing basketball and never felt so lost. So I started going to the gym with Kyle, but wouldn't dare enter a weight room. So while he trained, I would do cardio the whole time, which typically amounted to 1.5 to 2 hours of cardio. On top of that, I didn't pay any attention to my nutrition or macronutrient intake. It didn't take long for to drop 10 pounds, where I sat at about 90 pounds at 5'4”. It was at this point that I decided that enough was enough and it was time to put on some healthy weight. Currently I am sitting at 130 pounds and has never been happier in my own skin. Being told you are too skinny is just as painful as calling someone too fat. Once I worked up enough courage to enter the weight room, I couldn't believe how much more confident I felt. I was instantly hooked. People don't say I'm too skinny anymore.

After instilling this confidence in myself, I quickly developed a passion to help others do the same. In 2014, I received my Personal Training Certification and have been continuing to educate myself since so I can help women master their fitness goals.
